Station Computing - SharepointGeoff

Outputs the List ID (GUID) including title, description, creator and items in each list across a site in Sharepoint. (Also, the items in each list option can be turned off)

Trying to extract a GUID from a list directly is a hassle. And for an administrator, getting this information to developers over and over again is sometimes a constand battle.

The quick method (ahem) would be to give whoever wanted the GUID Design Rights to the List so they could use the ahem ‘Famous’ hack of extracting it from the List Settings...

I thought, aha, a script sounds better, but lets give it some options!

GEGETLISTID gets the list title, description, number of items in the list, the list items (and optionally the ability to turn that output off) and of course, the List ID! GEGETLISTID works against a site, so you must enter the url of the site when running the command.

List one or all sites on a farm with information concerning size, storage, bandwith, owner, optionally including a switch for displaying those with a specific right on the sites. Works with Sharepoint SP2 CU October update and tested against Sharepoint 2010. This outputs to a Text or XML or Html file (you choose!)

GEMYSITELOCKDOWN is a fantastic little utility that allows the setting of the LOCK state for MOSS Site Collections and sub sites which have been altered (today, this week, or all). Additionally, you can even use Windows Scheduler to actually schedule the run of this utility. Great when wishing to stop users accessing their sites due to policy (e.g. training / backup etc), and much more.
